As we approach Halloween, let's get spooky! We'll learn about the history of spiritualism, the heyday of parapsychology, and the intersections of science and superstition.
Details
Whether or not you believe in ghosts, every culture in human history has a relationship with death. In many, the concept of an afterlife, and fears of the unknown, are eloquently expressed through stories of ghosts. In this class, we'll explore:
- ghost stories from around the world
- European spiritualism & the relationship between whiteness and American ghost stories
- the psychology of hauntings
- the relationship between fear and hope
and we'll wrap up by writing our own short ghost stories!
What you'll need
This workshop is held remotely, in real time, online. All you'll need is an internet connection and a computer (or a smartphone).
