Mothman. Bigfoot. Chupacabra. The Fresno Nightwalkers. In this class, we'll dive into the belief, hope, and curiosity that drives modern folklore. Examining cryptozoology from a pop culture and anthropological standpoint, we'll explore our internal wildernesses and create a cryptid of our own.

We'll explore the gif (pronounce it however the dang heck you want!), examining its history and why some people's nonverbal communications are so #relatable. We'll also dive into the concept of "digital blackface." And finally, we'll wrap up by creating a gif of our very own.

As we approach Halloween, let's get spooky! We'll learn about the history of spiritualism, the heyday of parapsychology, and the intersections of science and superstition.
